On this page, you will find the general terms and conditions of service of M.A.J. Web Development.
Terms and conditions applicable and/or specific to a project will be communicated in writing in the form of a quote, project proposal or less formally, in the body of an email.
Quotes and projects proposals are private and confidential and should not be delivered to a third party.
We will request a written confirmation from your part for a contract/agreement to be validated. This can be done informally via email.
If an advance payment was requested to start the work, we will require the reception of the advance payment to validate the contract/agreement.
Should you need to change the conditions of the contract/agreements in the course of the project, please let us know as soon as possible to negociate alternatives and confirm the changes agreed upon in writing.
Our maintenance services cover the update of text and images of a website. We do not provide imagery, copy and design when we perform maintenance on a website. These should be provided to us electronically.
We do provide advice on copy (from an SEO and marketing point of view), image manipulation and design services to the extent of our ability in the course of consultancy/support sessions via Skype.
We are happy to communicate on your behalf with your hosting company support service, your domain name registrar support service and your company’s I.T. personnel or contractors.
Unless otherwise stated, the websites we produce are coded for desktop and laptop computers. They will be visible on tablets and mobile devices but will not be optimised for them. The development of applications and alternative layouts for mobile devices and tablets will be specified as individual items in quotes and proposals.
We do not provide imagery, design services, photography or copy for websites. We are happy to recommend trusted freelance professionals to provide these product and services to you.
At the moment, we do not provide web hosting and domain names. Hosting and domain names are therefore not included in our prices. We are happy to assist you in finding the right host for your website and in purchasing domain names.
We will deal with domain name redirections should you need assistance in doing that.
In general, projects delivered for a fixed price (as opposed to charged by the hour or day) include one installation of the website on a web host. We reserve the right to charge for extra installations due to an inappropriate choice of hosting package by yourself or a third party. We are always happy to recommend hosting providers best suited to your website at the start of the project.
We will remain available to correct left over bugs for free after completion of a project on the condition that no development work has been performed on the website by yourself or a third party.
The timing and deadlines of projects will be determined before we start working on your website. The timing can include dates by which material should be provided to us to build your website.
We will keep you updated and determine new deadlines should any technical problem slow down the progress of our work.
We cannot guarantee the meeting of deadlines if there are delays in payments or in the provision of material necessary to build your website.
We request that consultancy/support sessions provided over the phone and via Skype be scheduled in advance.
Our fees are payable within 14 days of the issue of our invoice via online transfer or Paypal.
Our maintenance and consultancy/support rates are the following: £35/h, £200/d.
We will charge by the hour but will keep track of left-over time for future use, e.g. if we use 90min to update your website, we will invoice you for two hours but you will be entitled to make use of the 30mins left in the future.
An advance payment of up to 50% of the total cost of a project will be required for projects with a price exceeding £500.
We request that all overdue bills are settled before we provide further services. We also request that you make yourself available to discuss late payments. Should you not answer our calls and emails regarding overdue bills for more than two weeks, we reserve the right to disconnect your website. Re-connecting the website will incur a fee of £50.
We like to add completed projects to our portfolio. This includes a link to the live website and to the website of the design agency that created the layout and imagery. We will give you an opportunity to refuse to have your website appearing in our portofolio when discussing our contract/agreement.
